JP Legarte (he/she/they) is a genderfluid Filipinx American pursuing the poetry track in Emerson College’s MFA in Creative Writing program and writing and experimenting against colonialism and empire. He also serves as the Community and Grant Development Assistant and a Senior Editor for Brink Literacy Project and F(r)iction and as a Co-Editor-in-Chief for Shaved Ice Collective. Her work appears in Rawhead Journal, Breakwater Review, and other publication avenues. She has been supported by scholarships, fellowships, and/or acceptances from the Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation Workshop, Seventh Wave Magazine – The Workshop, Juniper Summer Writing Institute, Macondo Writers Workshop, Martha’s Vineyard Summer Writers’ Conference, Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, and other similar programs.
