Chris Fong Chew 招偉明 is a writer, translator, poet, and educator based in Boston, MA. His work has largely been in education and nonprofit program development and administration. His career thus far has been spent working in the fields of music, literary, and business education. He also has extensive nonprofit experience as the former operations director of the nonprofit, Dear Asian Youth. As the founder and President for Collections of Transience, he draws on his experience when building out the programs and projects for the organization. He holds a B.M. from Berklee College of Music and an M.F.A. from Emerson College. His creative and academic work focuses on how language and history is considered and represented particularly through the lens of tension and release, overwhelm and space within dynamics of colonialism, displacement, and diaspora; exploring alterity, and how to bring dimensionality through dialectical thought, form, imagery, and shape.
