About COT Submissions

To our Collections of Transience Community,

Earlier in the year, some of you may have noticed that the Collections of Transience team closed submissions for creative work submitted through DuoTrope to be published on our website. This decision came about as a result of our desire to create a new, more organized avenue for publication that aligns with our longer term goals for Collections of Transience. As such, two of our staff and board members, Grace and JP, are starting a new literary magazine titled Shaved Ice Collective that will be an imprint of Collections of Transience and where we will be taking submissions from here on forward.

Shaved Ice Collective will officially open and start taking submissions from May 1 until May 31. The time leading up to May 1 will allow the team to devote its effort and energy to formalizing all logistics regarding the literary magazine so that it will run smoothly and efficiently upon launch. Shaved Ice Collective aims to give voice to people who have historically been confined to the margins or excluded from traditional publishing, and Grace and JP are excited to cultivate this space as part of the mission of Collections of Transience, where we explore “what it means when our identity is not seen as a limitation, but the root for a more expansive vision of creation.” We look forward to having you join us in this next chapter of our organizations journey.

Best regards,

Collections of Transience
